Sedation Dentistry in Frisco, TX
If the idea of a dental appointment makes you feel nervous or anxious, you are not alone. Many people have a fear of going to the dentist. We offer a range of options to help you relax before a procedure, so that your fear doesn’t prevent you from receiving dental care.
While some procedures may require general anesthesia, we also offer minimal sedation options that simply help you feel less tense before we begin. Minimal sedation options include:
- Inhaled minimal sedation is the most common dental sedation technique. In this option, you breathe in nitrous oxide (also known as “laughing gas”) mixed with oxygen through a mask placed over your nose. Inhaled sedation allows you to feel relaxed during a procedure, but also wears off quickly so you can safely drive home.
- Oral sedation through pill medication can offer minimal to moderate sedation, depending on the dosage. You might fall asleep during the procedure, or you might remain awake and relaxed.
